Our client, a prestigious educational institution based in the heart of Brighton, is seeking a Visa Compliance Officer to join their established Compliance Team. This role involves providing expert guidance for staff and students across the UK on queries relating to UK/Student Visas and the Home Office.

Key responsibilities include;

• Communicating with appropriate colleagues and students to maintain compliance with UKVI rules and regulations, acting as a central point of contact and providing accurate information at all times
• Using the Sponsorship Management System (SMS) to input data, make course and location changes and inform of early course completions, withdrawals and visa refusals
• Conducting regular audits and inspections to ensure student information is accurate
• Organising workshops and training events around visas
• Evaluating applications and other relevant documents
• Improving the service to all stakeholders in line with UKVI compliance by taking a proactive approach to the development of the role
• Attending meetings and training courses in order to contribute to the work of the Central Compliance Team
• Participating in the appraisal system and respecting the sensitive nature of information relating to students
• Ad-hoc travel across the UK Business Network (Expenses covered)

The ideal candidate will have previous experience working with Tier 4 Visa’s as the role necessitates accurate and expert advice across the UK Business network. They will also have used the SMS as a Level 1 User and will ideally have experience in a similar role in an educational environment. An interest in the subject matter would also be beneficial, as well as experience working with international students.

The role requires excellent interpersonal and customer service skills, as well as exceptional verbal and written communication. You must also be comfortable in both team and independent working environments, with the ability to effectively manage their time and workload. The successful candidate will be able to use MS Office to a high level and have an excellent eye for detail.
