An international client of ours is looking to recruit a Payroll Assistant/Administrator to join their International Payroll division, on a temp to perm basis. 

The position has the overall responsibility for timely and accurate processing of assigned employee payroll checks including collection, review, input, edit, output, and verification of payroll data.


• Process outside department timekeeping data by the required deadline
• Consistently apply company policy and government regulations to all processing
• Review audit reports for processing errors and request corrections as necessary
• Research employee questions and provide resolution, as dictated by company policy
• Review contracts and apply special processing requirements to specialized workforce groups, such as unions
• Explain and interpret complex payroll information to employees at all levels of the organisation
• Assist in specialised processing, requiring more detailed knowledge of payroll procedures
• Communicate all discrepancies to payroll supervisor or department timekeeper as necessary
• Perform other duties as required

Minimum Qualifications

• An essential requirement is a University degree in accounting, finance or related business field such as Maths or `economics
• At least 2 yrs plus Payroll experience within a busy payroll function
• Ability to effectively communicate in English both verbally and written
• Excellent knowledge of Microsoft Office to include Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, 
• Familiarity with accounting principles relating to funds disbursements, payroll tax statutory requirements and payment regulations
• Familiarity with garnishment processing
• Above average customer service, communication, and organisational skills
• Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines with minimal supervision
• Ability to work as a team player in a high stress environment
• Flexible/adaptable to constant change
• Ability to handle multiple concurrent assignments/projects
• Ability to deal with confidential subject matter
• Ability to work flexible hours when require

Preferred Qualifications
• Accounting certification such as  ACCA, AAT, CIMA or a Payroll qualification
