The company is seeking a Mechanical Engineer to join their team who are based in their European headquarters to work on special projects.

The role is to work on the projects which sit outside of the company\'s current product range, developing specialist solutions to either the customers specific requirements or, alternatively, to meet new market needs as the automation industry develops. The key is to keep the business at the cutting edge of the sector using your ideas and vision to produce cost effective and commercially viable products for existing or new applications.

Working from the company's headquarters in Milton Keynes you will be in regular contact with the business's design teams in a number of countries across Europe. Your responsibilities will include review of technical briefs for custom solutions generated by your colleagues to establish the commercial viability and technical practicality of proposals. You will also investigate and test new products developed by the company to be added to the product range. You will become a subject matter expert for the company\'s product range, but also be looking at the next generation of products and the changing requirements of the sector.

All in all this is a challenging role where no two days are the same and you have the opportunity to engage with your passion for engineering research and development.

To be considered you must demonstrate:

* Degree level education to a minimum of 2:1 in Mechanical engineering

* Ability to manage your own workload, ideally within a project orientated environment

* Happy to travel to European destinations as required

* Experience of creating technical reports

* Good knowledge of MS word applications

* Customer facing skills

The company is especially keen to hear from candidates with any of the following: Experience of working as an engineer in a volume manufacturing company; experience of working as a designer in a precision manufacturing enviroment; knowledge of CE standards
