We are looking to appoint a dedicated and talented technician to join in our client's Hospitality & Catering team. This role is crucial to ensuring that their learners receive an outstanding learning experience and that their restaurant function remains commercially viable and thriving.

The successful candidate will carry out tasks necessary for the facilitation of outstanding course delivery across the specialist areas by assisting teachers and lecturers in demonstrating skills to learners. The successful candidate will likewise support the restaurant service by supervising students in their different roles including the bar area.

JOB PURPOSE:

To carry out the tasks necessary for the facilitation of outstanding course delivery across the specialist areas.
To be aware of and act in accordance with the safety regulations and expectations of the area.
To organise, maintain and assist in the ordering of stock and equipment.

KEY ROLES

To order, maintain and distribute stock from the store.
To ensure all equipment in the area is maintained in good working order.
To maintain and ensure high standards of Health & Safety in working practices, operations and equipment.
To assist teaching and assessment staff in the delivery and assessment of programmes ensuring areas are ready for learning, and when learning has finished areas are returned to their expected state of readiness.

MAIN DUTIES

To organise equipment and rooms for specific lessons across the specialist areas.
To keep stock records of equipment and consumables.
To be aware of the safety standards and work in compliance with their requirements.
To catalogue and prepare resources in the laboratories and rooms including books, slides and videos.
To ensure rooms, studios, laboratories, workshops and other practical areas are maintained and ready for learning.
To assist students preparing for examinations and portfolio completion.
To help students with the technical aspects of their work across the specialist areas.
To support delivery staff by assisting in the supervision of learners ensuring
correct standards of behaviour and health & safety are maintained.

PERSON SPECIFICATION

Qualified in maths and English to a minimum of Level 2
Qualified in specialist, vocational area at Level 2, or working towards
Experience in the use of a range of materials, skills, equipment and processes used in relevant working area
Experience of supporting workshop activities
Experience of maintaining stock control
Knowledge of health and safety procedures in practical environments
