Job Title
Assistant Manager - Tax Processing Team - £28,500 Basic Salary, Permanent, Full time

The role
The role will be based within a small, specialist team managing tax related administrative services outsourced to the business primarily from US corporate clients, both UK and overseas based. This role will have responsibility for all of the technical processes needed to conform to all of the regulatory obligations.

The Duties
• Complete regular checks on clients multiple US dividend spreadsheets using complex Excel templates
• Managing the complex tax return processes through to submission
• Interact with and sometimes support the Automatic Exchange of Information (AEOI) regulations team
• Ensuring US tax collected is regularly submitted
• Investigating and liaising to rectify and improve the application of US tax regulations
• Ensure US tax is properly deducted from payments, manage tax adjustments, then validate and submit the tax collected for weekly submission to the US tax authority via banking processes
• Compile and submit various annual US tax returns for the business on behalf of the corporate clients and products’ shareholders over a six month timetable.
• Oversee and support the team in managing the related stock withdrawal process. Use the available resource to best effect for related tasks, helping manage their workloads and achievement of targets and performance levels. Check and sign off their work as required
• Manage and develop the team including staff reviews and performance management tools
• Develop and improve related processes within the business, helping other areas implement necessary changes. This will require involvement with different software used to manage the data flow.
• Create and maintain written procedures and templates and communicate required changes
• Identify and suggest procedural and template improvements, implement as agreed and allocated
• Develop own technical knowledge, with guidance, undertaking some investigation and research as regulatory requirements change. Have some involvement in seeking external advice as the business requires
• Provide excellent client and customer service contact by letter, phone and email
• Manage internal and external queries and complaints as required within service levels
Your experience will include:
• Previous supervisory or people management experience
• Substantial experience within a technical operational environment
• The ability to understand regulatory concepts and on-board information which can be complex in nature
• Intermediate to advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel; the ability to use pivot tables, macros and similar would be an advantage
• Minimum of 4 GCSEs or equivalent at Grade C and above (including Maths and English)
